Bree De Rome is a sassy, sweet and charming young singer and songwriter from the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia.
Growing up with Johnny Cash and The Beatles on her iPod made her pretty weird, let’s just admit it. But with her influences including Billie Holiday, The Ronettes and Hank Williams you can imagine what the outcome would be. Her tunes are filled with the scent of vanilla fudge and fresh chocolate chip cookies baking in the oven. Don’t even try and deny that you don’t love the smell of those two things cause well, no one does. Bree has a unique style from her music to her sense of dress all coming from a by-gone era. With the mellow vocal sounds similar to Patsy Cline and instrumentation of The Zombies and The Kinks, Bree is a sweet songstress from another era but is here right now.
Sure she’s done some great things, achieved some great achievements and collaborated with some great people to collaborate with. These include Sally Seltmann (Seeker Lover Keeper) who co-wrote the Grammy nominated hit ’1234′ with Canadian artist Feist, Jake Stone from Bluejuice and Sydney’s Deep Sea Arcade. Also did I mention she was accepted into Queensland’s Conservatorium of Music at the age of 16?
Countless hours spent at Sydney’s Studio 301 has come together to create her debut EP Bag Of Bones which is due for release early 2013, will bring you both heartbreak and happiness. *Counting there’s some happy songs on it?* Produced by Tony Buchen who’s worked with artists such as Tim Finn, John Butler Trio, Washington and The Preatures, Bag Of Bones is bound to make your heart stop for just a second to say the least.
