The Jamaican heritage, UK born songbird Miss Renee Simone is described by legendary blues artist Eric Bibb as “Reminiscent of an early Sade”
Miss Renee Simone is best known as the singer from the band ‘Blackbirds’ who wowed judges in the semi finals of Australia’s Got Talent 2010. The band released a self titled album and performed at many Australian music festivals including Bluesfest 2011 & 2012, Reggaefest, Mullumbimby Music Festival, Bellingen Global Carnival and Splendour in the Grass.. The band also supported Eric Bibb on his national Australian national tour. 
In late 2012 Miss Renee Simone stepped out as a solo artist kicking off her career with a series of shows at the Adelaide Fringe Festival and was invited to record with a number of different Aussie icons including Xavier Rudd, Angus Stone and Bernard Fanning. Angus Stone compared her voice to “layers of tiramisu topped with smooth chocolate sauce.”
In Spring 2013 Miss Renee Simone will launch her solo album, ROAR. 
“I drew inspiration from hundreds of women from all generations the world over who shared their stories of empowerment and disempowerment with me over a period of 12 months as I wrote the album. Women who have faced extreme adversity and risen to the challenge. Women who are still working it out. Women who refuse to give up.”
After hearing ROAR Bernard Fanning stated “I heard ROAR and was really impressed by the range and quality of the writing, singing and playing. Renee is able to straddle jazzy soul, folk, pop and reggae and make all of the styles her own. A great singer with a very unique style. If honey had a sound it would be like Miss Renee Simone’s voice”.
Miss Renee Simone music is largely influenced by the divas of soul and jazz – Josephine Baker, Billie Holiday and Nina Simone - as well as contemporary artists Neneh Cherry, Lauryn Hill, India Arie, Sade, Erykah Badu, Whitney, Morcheeba, Massive Attack and Portishead.
