Moutheater is a noise rock, post-punk and metal band from the Hampton Roads area of Virginia that is currently on the Nashville based label Thrashed Records. Their debut 7 inch entitled Lot Lizard was recorded by Steve Albini (Big Black, Nirvana (band), Neurosis (band), The Pixies, High On Fire, Nine Inch Nails, The Jesus Lizard) at Electrical Audio in Chicago, IL during the summer of 2007 and included artwork by Dwid Hellion of Integrity (band). They've toured and played shows with various acts including Trap Them, Doomriders, The Banner, Prideswallower, Fight Amputation, Ruiner (band) etc. In 2008 Moutheater teamed up with German band Vegas for a split 7 inch that also includes artwork by Dwid Hellion and toured the northeast, midwest and south that summer. The band was chosen to perform at the 2009 MACRoCk festival along side Pygmy Lush, My Disco, and ex-Breather Resist band Young Widows. In early 2009 the band toured the northeast and parts of the south again, as well as introducing new bass player and ex-Jesuit and The End Of The Universe member Brett Mathews to their lineup.
The Moutheater full length entitled "Ornament" was released in July of 2009, followed by another American summer tour of the midwest and parts of the south and northeast. Ornament was featured in the June issue of Alternative Press, the July issue of Decibel, and the September issue of Outburn as well as other outlets.
