The Tosca String Quartet formed in 1997 as a part of Tosca Tango Orchestra, which garnered international attention with performances at the 5th World Tango Summit in Buenos Aires and in Richard Linklater's arthouse hit film, Waking Life. The quartet began performing on its own and quickly became a fixture in Austin's vibrant pop and classical crossover scenes, appearing with local and touring bands and presenting new works by young composers. 

Busy recording artists, the quartet appears on countless recordings and dozens of international TV and radio broadcasts. Recent winners of the Austin Critics Table award for Best Chamber Performance (2009), the group continues to be Austin's favorite strings for recording, touring and adventuresome classical programming.
