Spanish band Franc Albir (Free Will) was formed in the 1980's when members from the bands Vilassar de Dalt and Maresme joined ranks. Taking great care to get everything just right as they want it, the band decided to record and release material at their very own pace. Which has lead to merely four albums released by this band in almost thirty years. "L'u" from 1992 was their debut, and it would take another 14 years before they had their second album "Tocant el Dos" ready in 2006. Seven years later Franc Albir released their so far most recent efforts, the albums "Tres" and "Hoc". The latter of these were picked up and released by French label Musea Records.

Franc albir is a veteran catalan prog-band formed by the mid-eighties. Their influences come from the classic british prog- rock, but they also like to explore some other fields, introducing some hints of jazz, pop-rock, mediterranean sounds and powerhouse passages close to metal. All these together building a great piece of work full of epic and melodic music.

Franc Albir és el nom d'un grup de 6 músics, fusió de dues bandes de Vilassar de Dalt, al Maresme (Barcelona). Franc Albir té 3 discs, "L'U" del 1992, "Tocant el dos" editat el 2006 i un pack de 2 discs "Hoc i Tres" del 2013.
Si hi ha un grup independent al món, aquest és Franc Albir (lliure albir, "libre albedrio"), el nom del qual ja és tota una declaració de principis, perquè no es deixa guiar per modes ni tendències.
La nostra proposta musical combina el rock simfònic i el jazz fusió amb cançons pop-rock. Presentem, a més, imatges en directe en una conjunció d'elements que la fan espectacular i imaginativa, bastida en un estil on hi presideix el bon gust, la sensibilitat i l'aposta per una sonoritat molt cuidada.
Sis músics diferents amb diferents influències que junts aconsegueixen un so únic que va desde els colors més delicats a moments èpics.
