Andrey Rubtsov first came to public attention when he conducted two piano concertos by J.S. Bach, with the Russian National Orchestra and Mikhail Pletnev as a soloist in 2004. This was followed by concerts with RNO in Malaysia, Russia, Netherlands and USA. In the 2014-15 season he takes up prestigious fellowship at the Royal Scottish Conservatoire in Glasgow, granting him opportunities to work with the BBCSSO, Scottish Opera, RSNO and Red Note Ensemble. Andrey was born in Moscow, graduated with top honors from the Royal Academy of Music. He was called “one of the most gifted young conductors” by NTV, the leading Russian TV-channel.
