The seeds of Mindless Viscosity were first planted in 1993 when childhood friends Saul Nadeau and Marco Gervais, brought together by a love of metal and all things heavy, began playing guitar together in the sleepy little village of Saint-André, which finds itself just outside of Grand Falls in the Northwest part of NB. Drawing from influences such as Carcass, Death, Deicide, Gorefest, Gorguts, Metallica, Napalm Death, Pantera and Voivod, they quickly began to amass a body of material using keyboards to fill the roll of drums to make primitive recordings of their songs on cassette tapes.
The band remained a duo for many years due to a lack of like-minded musicians in the rural area Saul and Marco found themselves in. The duo was then split up in 1997 after Marco relocated to Moncton and the band stayed on hiatus for some years. Saul eventually relocated to Moncton as well and a chance meeting between the long time friends in 1999 rekindled their desire to play with each other but despite this the band stayed off and on for the next few years.
It wasn't until 2002 that things began to become serious again for Mindless Viscosity. New songs started to flow and Saul and Marco kept honing their playing and their punishing riffs. Carefully crafted and complex songs began to evolve over the next few years, all the while looking for other members that would complete the lineup of the band.
This first functioning lineup finally came in 2010 when Jason MacArthur, on drums, and Brad Wells, on vocals, joined the fold. They weren't able to fill the bass player slot but that didn't stop them from soldiering on and playing a series of shows around the Moncton area between 2010 and 2012. This lineup then disbanded after their last show in 2012 and Saul and Marco found themselves as a duo again but this did not break their resolve. Saul and Marco were determined to keep Mindless Viscosity going and so they started taking the steps to rebuild a solid lineup.
The pieces of the puzzle finally fell into place in the early summer of 2013 when Norm Robichaud, on vocals, Eric Gibbs, on drums, and Matt LeBlanc, on bass, were added to the mix. This resulted in Mindless Viscosity's heaviest and tightest lineup to date. New life was breathed into the band and these new players were able to complement and enhance the already established riffs that Saul and Marco honed over their many years playing together resulting in a relentless rhythmic assault of thick and powerful songs that will leave you astonished by the mind melting heaviness of it all. Although this incarnation of Mindless Viscosity is but in it's infancy this fact is certainly not reflected when these experienced and talented players hit the stage. Seamlessly mixing Meshuggah-like rhythmic elements and Carcass-like aggression Mindless Viscosity is not to be missed.

Norm Robichaud - Joining in 2013 Norm brings powerful and visceral vocals and thought provoking lyrics to the front of the stage and rams them right in your face. Norm is an experienced vocalist that has done stints with bands such as Rebecca's Grave, Dischord and The Fallen and he has done extensive touring across Canada & the US.
Marco Gervais - Founding member of Mindless Viscosity he forms one half of the twin guitar attack that will punch you right in the gut and leave you screaming for more. He has been with Mindless Viscosity since it's humble beginnings in 1993 and has watched it grow into a force to be reckoned with in the Moncton heavy scene. Marco has also played with the likes of Laid to Waste and Iron Giant. He is also an active member of Heavy Doobie.
Saul Nadeau - Founding member of Mindless Viscosity and main songwriter. Mindless Viscosity is his brainchild and he is the other half of the blazing guitar equation that creates the core sound of the band. Bringing immense riffs that are like monolithic mountains of heavy being smashed to the earth.
Matt LeBlanc - Joining in 2013 Matt brings a bone crushingly heavy bass tone and groove to the mix. Being the bands first legitimate bass player he lays down the foundation for the punishing guitar work of Saul and Marco adding another level of density to the crushingly heavy sound. Matt, a bit of a well kept secret, has played with a few relatively unknown bands but spent most of his time woodshedding and perfecting his skills. He also forms 1/2 of the duo LUMA.
Eric Gibbs - Joining in 2013 Eric's thunderous and intricate drum playing really brings the unbelievably heavy songs of Mindless Viscosity to life. The backbone of the band his blasting beats help make Mindless Viscosity a cohesive unit of monumental sound. Eric has played in a number of bands such as Quickdrop, Laid to Waste and Dischord.
