At 28, Roland Kay-Smith has done a lot for a musician who has remained entirely independent throughout his whole career. To date, Roland has released 9 EPs, 3LPs, and 10 music videos. Roland has toured his home country many times, as well as playing solo acoustic shows in London and New York. In 2007, with his first band Walrus, Roland won the coveted triple j Unearthed prize. 
Since then, the three bands Roland has fronted (Walrus, Smitty & B. Goode, and Roland K Smith & The Sinners) have all gone on to received national airplay, critical acclaim, and fans all over the country. 
In October 2012 Roland released the 4-track solo EP ‘Blue and Green’. Recorded by Pete Doherty at Goose Studios, the EP finds Roland performing with nothing more than his voice, an acoustic guitar and a harmonica. The songs on the EP draw their inspiration from early American folk music, while addressing the concerns of a modern audience. 
An always charismatic and entertaining performer, the summer of 2012/2013 will see Roland embark on his first solo acoustic national tour. After that, his sights are firmly set on international shows… and watching the cricket.
